TATTOOS – I own a private licensed and Fraser health certified studio in Chilliwack BC. I am currently booking appointments for spring 2017
Born in 1983 and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Robyn had an early love of the arts, in-spite of never having any formal training or fine art schooling. Her childhood dream was to illustrate medical textbooks and she was always fascinated with skulls and the human body.
She has always felt most at home with a pencil in hand, drawing medical illustrations from her father’s old anatomy textbooks.
After settling down in British Columbia and starting a family, Robyn decided to pursue her dream. In July of 2014, on the wall in her kitchen, next to her children eating breakfast at the table, she started her series of large scale medical illustrations and has been going strong ever since. In 2016, after 3 years of studying and learning the art of tattooing she opened her own private tattoo studio to continue her love of art but with ink and skin. She has been published in over five art reference books and magazines and has been involved in multiple exhibits around Vancouver.
She likes to find the beauty in contrasts with graphite powder and charcoal, and now with ink in tattooing. She likes to show that there can be a soft side to what is usually so hard and strong, like bones. She tries to bring what’s hiding underneath to the surface, and make you face what’s unseen.
Her goal as an artist is to bring beauty to the misunderstood and unseen. She wants to make you think in an intriguing new way about the unusual, hidden and forgotten.
